Building Possibility Together
Developed in response to Cooperativa Valdocco’s social housing brief, this proposal explores how architecture can support a diverse and evolving community. It pairs an existing residential building with a new housing and community facility, balancing residents’ privacy with accessible neighbourhood services and shared spaces for interaction.
A two-phase programme allows the new building to evolve from student accommodation into independent homes for families transitioning out of housing insecurity. Communal facilities adapt alongside these changes, creating opportunities for exchange between residents and neighbours while responding to changing needs over time.
